How it works

1

Insiders buy their own stock

Executives and directors must tell the SEC within two business days of buying shares in their own company. Those filings are public — and they come from the people who know the business best.

2

A model scores every buy

Most insider purchases mean nothing. Each one is scored on who bought, how large the cheque was, how much it grew their stake, and the price setup — against two decades of past filings. Only the few that clear the bar become research cases.

3

You see the whole setup

Every research case shows the market price at detection, the model's framework and a plain-English reason it qualified — plus what could break it. This is research built from public filings, not financial advice.

FAQ

Common questions

Where does the data come from?

Every research case starts with an SEC Form 4 — the disclosure insiders are legally required to file within two business days of trading their own company's stock. All public record.

Is following insider trades legal?

Yes. Insiders disclose these trades publicly by law. Reading a public filing and deciding what to do with that information is completely legal. Trading on private, non-public information is the illegal kind — that's not what this is.

What's the difference between this and OpenInsider?

OpenInsider shows you every filing, unfiltered. We run each purchase through rules validated on two decades of historical data and only surface the ones that pass.

Is this investment advice?

No. This is published research on public filings, for informational purposes. See the full disclaimer.
